inp.polri.go.id - Bengkulu. Bengkulu Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Mardiyono, officially received an Award from the Indonesian Museum of World Records (MURI) for his success in initiating the "Largest Coconut Planting on the Beach," which saw 10,000 coconut seedlings planted simultaneously by 10,000 participants.

The prestigious award was presented on August 18, 2025, in Jakarta, and signed by Prof. KP Jaya Suprana, founder of MURI.

On that occasion, the MURI Record certificate was presented directly to the Bengkulu Regional Police Chief, the Mayor of Bengkulu, the Governor of Bengkulu, the President Director of Bank Bengkulu, and the Director of RBTV, who together played an active role in the success of this major coconut tree planting program in coastal areas.

Chief Mardiyono emphasized that the coconut planting movement is not merely a symbolic activity, but a concrete action to protect the coastal ecosystem from the threat of abrasion.

"We want this planting to be a green legacy that benefits not only the environment, but also serves as a source of prosperity for coastal communities in the future," said Inspector General Mardiyono.

The coconut planting program demonstrates the Bengkulu Regional Police's commitment to environmental sustainability. In addition to preventing coastal erosion, coconut trees are also believed to provide added economic value to coastal communities through their fruit and other derivative products.

The Bengkulu Regional Police Chief emphasized that this award belongs not only to the police institution, but also to all elements of society who participate in preserving nature.

"Hopefully, this coconut planting will be a good first step in maintaining the sustainability of the coastal ecosystem and provide significant benefits for future generations," he added.
