Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) confirmed it will fully cover all medical expenses related to food poisoning incidents from the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
“We have funds allocated from operational and emergency budgets. For example, in Banggai Islands, Central Sulawesi, we paid Rp 350 million in hospital bills, and we’ve prepared billions more if needed,” said BGN Deputy Head Nanik S. Deyang on Thursday (25/9/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
She stressed no costs will be charged to parents, schools, or local adminsitration, with hospitals directly coordinating with BGN. To prevent future cases, all MBG kitchen staff must now hold certification from official culinary or food safety institutions.
BGN has also suspended and sanctioned SPPG kitchens found violating standards, including removing their heads.
“We will firmly shut down operations if SOPs are not followed. Every life matters to us,” Nanik said.
