Inp.polri.go.id - Padang. Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Bhayangkara Hospital in Padang is conducting identification procedures for 18 bodies recovered after flash floods struck West Sumatra’s Padang, Agam, Padang Pariaman, and Padang Panjang.
“Today we received 18 bodies submitted for identification, all of them victims of the disaster,” said Bhayangkara Hospital Chief Senior InspectorDr. Harry Andromeda on Friday (28/11/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The victims arrived from multiple affected areas. Chief Harry said the hospital immediately launched postmortem and antemortem examinations to determine the identities of the deceased. The process includes matching physical features, photographs, and information provided by families.
The identification effort is supported by personnel from thef West Sumatra Regional Police and forensic specialists from the Inafis fingerprint identification unit. Three of the 18 bodies have been identified and released to families, while the remainder are still under verification.
Chief Harry added that the hospital’s Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team is operating at full capacity without additional staffing.
