Inp.polri.go.id - JakartaThe Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has named nine suspects in two separate sting operations targeting alleged corruption within Indonesia’s fiscal institutions, involving officials from the Directorate General of Taxes and the Directorate General of Customs and Excise.

In South Kalimantan, the KPK named Mulyono, theHead of the Banjarmasin Tax Office, as a suspect in an alleged bribery and illegal gratification case related to Value Added Tax (VAT) restitution for plantation companies. Two others were also named suspects: Dian Jaya Demega, a tax auditor, and Venasius Jenarus Genggor, finance manager of private firm PT Buana Karya Bhakti.

“The KPK has started the investigation stage by naming three suspects,” said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu on Thursday (5/2/2026).

The arrests followed a sting operation conducted on 4 February 2026, during which investigators seized evidence linked to the alleged manipulation of VAT refund processes. All three suspects are being detained at the KPK’s Red and White Building detention facility for an initial 20-day period while investigators examine potential broader networks within the regional tax office.

On the same day, the KPK also named six suspects in a separate bribery case involving the Ministry of Finance’s Directorate General of Customs and Excise. Those named include Rizal, the Director of Enforcement and Investigation, two other senior customs officials, and three executives from private firm PT BR.

According to investigators, the customs officials allegedly received illegal payments from PT BR’s management to facilitate import documentation for goods entering Indonesia. The arrests were carried out in Lampung and Jakarta.

The suspects in both cases are charged under Indonesia’s Anti-Corruption Law and related criminal statutes..
