Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Global gaming platform Roblox has integrated the Indonesia Game Rating System (IGRS) into its platform to comply with local child protection regulations. Starting Thursday (5/2/2026), users in Indonesia will see dual age classifications, which is official IGRS ratings (such as 13+ or 18+), alongside Roblox’s global "Content Maturity Labels", to help families select age-appropriate experiences.
This move follows the platform's recent implementation of facial age estimation technology in January.
"We are proud to collaborate with IGRS to present age classifications in accordance with Indonesian standards," said Roblox Chief Safety Officer Matt Kaufmann, adding that the initiative ensures compliance with local laws, as cited by antaranews.com.
The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs welcomed the adoption, viewing it as a vital step in protecting minors in digital spaces.
Officials noted that the IGRS system provides parents with a credible, easy-to-understand framework to manage their children's access. Roblox plans to eventually transition its global labels to these localized ratings to provide maximum clarity for the Indonesian gaming ecosystem.
