Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has indicated that the funding for Indonesia’s membership in the Board of Peace (BOP), the Gaza peace initiative spearheaded by U.S. President Donald Trump, could potentially be sourced from the state budget (APBN).
"I think a significant portion will come from the budget, from the APBN as well," he said at the Presidential Palace complex on Wednesday (28/1/2026), as reported by antaranews.com
However, the minister said that a final decision is pending a direct mandate and specific instructions from President Prabowo Subianto.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs earlier noted that while permanent membership reportedly requires a $1 billion (Rp 16.82 trillion) contribution, participation in the council remains voluntary.
Indonesia currently views the BOP as a vital, temporary international mechanism backed by UN Security Council Resolution 2803 to stop the violence and protect civilians in Gaza.
The Ministry of Finance is now standing by for the President's executive order to determine the exact scale and source of Indonesia's financial participation in this humanitarian mission.
