inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) expressed its support for food self-sufficiency and ensuring the safety and quality of drugs and food in accordance with the second point of Asta Cita initiated by President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"BPOM is committed to proactively encouraging infrastructure development and increasing employment opportunities through supervision of the pharmaceutical and medical device industries in Indonesia," said Head of BPOM Taruna Ikrar on Thursday (11/28/24).
The Head of BPOM stated that as a government institution that organizes drug and food supervision affairs, his party is committed to fully supporting national development carried out by the Indonesian government.
According to him, integrity is very vital in running a government to create a clean government free from corruption, collusion, and nepotism.
In addition, he considered integrity to be the core in realizing world-class public services. For this reason, BPOM is working with a number of agencies, namely the Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (Kemen PAN RB), the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK), and the Audit Board of Indonesia and Development (BPKP).
BPOM has also agreed to cooperate with the Ministry of SOEs to increase the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). This cooperation also supports the third point of Asta Cita, namely creating quality jobs, encouraging entrepreneurship, and developing creative industries.
The Head of BPOM views MSMEs as strategic partners who not only produce quality products, but also contribute to the independence of the nation.
This cooperation opens up new opportunities to promote BPOM-certified MSME products through various channels, including e-commerce, trade fairs, and collaboration with international institutions.
"This is in line with BPOM's vision to increase the contribution of local products in the global market, support the independence of the national industry, and encourage the realization of 2045 Golden Indonesia," concluded the Head of BPOM.
