Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) has instructed PT Nestlé Indonesia to temporarily stop distributing and importing certain baby formula products after receiving a safety alert from the EU Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (EURASFF), officials said on Wednesday (14/1/2026) in Jakarta.
“Based on our import data review, two affected batches entered Indonesia, but laboratory tests show the cereulide toxin was not detected,” BPOM Head Taruna Ikrar said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The measure applies to S-26 Promil Gold pHPro 1 (0–6 months) produced by Nestlé Suisse SA in Switzerland, involving specific batch numbers. BPOM said the step was taken as a precaution, given infants’ vulnerability, despite no confirmed illness reports in Indonesia.
Nestlé Indonesia has conducted a voluntary recall under BPOM supervision, while the authority continues pre- and post-market surveillance and coordination with global food safety networks.
BPOM urged consumers to stop using the affected batches and return them, while assuring other Nestlé products remain safe.
