inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Investigators from the Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police's General Criminal Investigation Directorate have named a man with the initials ANH (24) as a suspect.

The suspect was named after the man was found to be in possession of and carrying an object designed to be an incendiary device, a bottle containing a dangerous liquid with a wick attached to the end, during a demonstration near the DPR/MPR RI Building in Central Jakarta on Friday (6/12/2026).

Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Public Relations Chief Senior Superintendent Budi Hermanto confirmed the arrest and suspect status determination.

ANH was arrested by security personnel on Gatot Subroto street, right in front of the main gate of the DPR RI at approximately 3:30 p.m. after his movements aroused the suspicion of officers on the ground.

"Officers in the field managed to find evidence in the form of three bottles containing a dangerous liquid with wicks on the end of the bottles in his backpack. These items are categorized as illegal incendiary devices that are extremely dangerous and have the potential to threaten life in crowded areas," said Budi Hermanto in an official statement on Saturday (6/13/2026).

According to him, to clarify the case and explore the sequence of events leading up to the suspect's action, investigators have also questioned a man with the initials R. He is known to have been a travel companion to the demonstration location. He is currently a witness to the incident, and his role will be further investigated by the investigative team to determine whether he was involved in planning the action.

Based on the initial interrogation, suspect ANH arrived at the Senayan parliamentary complex after seeing a flyer calling for a demonstration that had been widely circulated on various social media platforms several days earlier.

For his actions, investigators charged the suspect with the misuse of weapons or dangerous materials in accordance with Article 306 of the Criminal Code.
