inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police is paying special attention to the sterilization of the routes for German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier's state visit to Jakarta on Monday, which coincided with security measures for several demonstrations in the capital.

Jakarta Regional Metropolitan Police Chief, Commissioner General Asep Edi Suheri, emphasized that all personnel on duty are required to ensure the VIP route for the state guest remains safe and conducive.

"Ensure that the German President's VIP route is sterile and under control," Asep emphasized on Monday (6/15/2026).

He explained that in addition to protecting and serving the public's right to express their aspirations through demonstrations, the police also has a state duty to secure the German President's official visit.

Several routes that are the focus of tight security include the Halim Perdanakusuma, Jenderal Sudirman street, Gatot Subroto street, Gerbang Pemuda, Asia Afrika street, and the TVRI area.

Asep firmly instructed his staff to ensure that the protesters' movements do not shift or spread beyond the state guest route.

"The entire route must be ensured to be sterile, safe, and controlled. No protesters should expand or shift onto the VIP route," he said.

The TVRI area in particular is one of the areas receiving the most intense security attention. This location is considered to be directly adjacent to a critical point for protesters' movements.

At the end of his address, Asep instructed the traffic department and all related units to work synergistically. He hoped that the demonstration's services and the security of the protocol route for the German President would run smoothly.
