Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Central Jakarta Metropolitan Sub-regional Police distributed 5 tons of affordable rice during the second day of the Indonesian National Police (INP)’s Gerakan Pangan Murah (GPM) low-cost food to help residents access basic food at reasonable prices.
“Public enthusiasm was high. Everything ran smoothly thanks to cooperation among officers and the orderly behavior of residents,” said Central Jakarta Police Chief Senior Superintendent Susatyo Purnomo Condro on Friday (15/8/2025), as reported by antaranews.com.
The GPM was held at the Central Jakarta Police Headquarters, selling 5-kg rice packs for Rp 55,000. Buyers were required to present a photocopy of their ID and could purchase a maximum of two packs.
An estimated 600 residents attended. The initiative aims to stabilize food prices and strengthen police–community relations ahead of the 80th Independence Day celebrations.
