inp.polri.go.id - East Manggarai. A joint team found a victim of the landslide in Tuwa Hamlet, Goreng Meni Village, Lamba Leda District, on Monday (1/26/2026).

The victim was identified as Yustina Mira (18), a student from Pau Hamlet, Goreng Meni Village, Lamba Leda District, East Manggarai Regency. The victim was found buried under landslide material and immediately evacuated to the Goreng Meni Village Hall for identification and a post-mortem examination.

The evacuation was carried out by a joint inter-agency team consisting of the East Manggarai Sub-regional Police, the Indonesian National Military (TNI), the East Manggarai Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the Regional Government, and the West Manggarai National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas).

East Manggarai Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Haryanto, stated that the discovery of the victim was a continuation of the search operation that had previously been suspended due to extreme weather.

"Today, one victim was found. The joint team is currently continuing the search for another victim who remains missing. We are working diligently while prioritizing personnel safety," said Haryanto.

Haryanto also urged the public to remain calm and avoid approaching the landslide site.

"We urge the public to comply with officers' instructions and avoid approaching the scene due to the potential for further landslides," said Haryanto.
