This was conveyed by the Director General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices at the Ministry of Health, Lucia Rizka Andalusia, in Jakarta.
She stated that the medical equipment had been provided to hospitals and community health centers, and that efforts to fulfill the needs would continue.
"This includes community health centers. We are now reaching them as we must resume operations immediately. All hospitals, including surgical facilities, are now operational," she explained, as reported by Antaranews on Monday (1/26/2026).
She said that the medical equipment was provided through supplies and repairs to damaged facilities. She mentioned that the medical equipment was provided by the Ministry of Health, as well as donations from various parties.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that his ministry is targeting full health services in the disaster-affected areas of Sumatra to be fully operational by March 2026.
"Our next target is to have everything fully recovered by March. We've already listed all the hospitals and community health centers, and what's missing," the Minister said during a meeting with the House of Representatives (DPR) in Jakarta on Monday (1/19/2026).
The Minister explained that several facilities are still needed to ensure the smooth operation of health services. For example, thousands of mattresses are still needed, as many were damaged by the mud.
He contacted various automotive companies, such as Astra, Daihatsu, and Isuzu, to help repair the damaged ambulance. He also opened a donation drive to ensure the immediate provision of needed medical equipment, such as x-rays.
In addition to healthcare facilities, he is also pursuing the rehabilitation and reconstruction of homes for medical personnel and healthcare workers affected by the disaster.
