Chief of Community Development Unit of Mimika Departmental Police Invites People to Get Vaccinated through Mimika Public Radio

Mimika – Chief of Community Development Unit, Police Inspector First Class Paulus Randeratu, held interactive dialogue of Covid-19 vaccination acceleration at the Mimika Public Radio, Cenderawasih street of Timika, on Tuesday (21/12/2021). During the interactive dialogue, the Chief of the Community Development Unit explained and advised people that, in approaching Christmas and New Year, Mimika Departmental Police invites and advises people to maintain public security and order in their own neighbourhood. "Mimika Departmental Police are still trying to collaborate with the Local Health Agency, Army, Air Forces, and volunteers to conduct vaccination acceleration to support a government programme to achieve 70% population vaccinated before January 1 in Mimika regency. Besides Chief of Community Development Unit, the event was also attended by Rev Ferdinan Hukubun, Classis Head of GPI of Papua; Head of FKUB of Mimika regency, Agniatus Adii; and Head of Early Awareness Communication Forum of Mimika regency, Luky Mahakena. The three interviewees explain how the people of Mimika regency could participate in maintaining security and order in the neighbourhood. Rev. Ferdinan Hukubun affirmed to maintain security and order and position themselves as the Police of the neighbourhood, so it could create a safe and comfortable situation. To the community, in approaching Christmas and New Year, he asked people to avoid drinking alcohol that makes people around feeling uncomfortable", he explained. "The Head of FKUB also asked Mimika regency people of all religion to show inter-religion tolerance, take care of each other, and uphold cohesiveness and togetherness to create a safe and comfortable Christmas and New Year situation", he said. Chief of Community Development Unit said that December is the great day of Christian people who will celebrate Christmas on December 25, 2021, and we are all will celebrate New Year on January 1, 2022. "Let's maintain security and order, and may we all enter the new year with a safe, comfortable, and peaceful situation", he concluded.
