Inp.polri.go.id - Mataram. Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police, Police Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal bought goods from traders affected by Covid-19 pandemic during emergency PPKM. Governer of West Nusa Tenggara Province, Zulkieflimansyah expressed his appreciation to this action taken by Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police.
Former Head of Public Affairs Division of Indonesia National Police toured along Sriwijaya Street and Majahapit, Mataram to meet number of traders. In the video received by MNC, Monday (07/19/2021), Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police set example to his members to remain humanist in giving understanding to traders about Emergency PPKM.
Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police met food traders and also bought from them. When Police Inspector General Iqbal paid more in total for his purchases, the merchant didn't believe it and said it was too much.
"How much is this, all of this? IDR 150,000. I bought this so I can help you. Please be patient with this community restriction. You should close by 8. We’ve done this for benefit of many people to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police said.
“How much is it?” Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police asked.
"Can I bid or not? I offer IDR 200,000?" Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police said. "This is too much" the merchant replied.
"IDR 300,000 ok?" Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Police mentioned. "That is too much," the merchant said. "No, it's not. It’s a blessing from God," Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police said. “Praise to the Lord. Thank you very much, Sir.”
Meanwhile, Bang Zul, informal nickname of West Nusa Tenggara Governor, also thanked M Iqbal for his humanist approach. He ensured government would not remain silent during the Emergency PPKM.
"Thank you Chief of West Nusa Tenggara Regional Police for your humanist approach. It is not easy indeed, and a very dilemmatic. PPKM must be carried out as it’s for the public safety," he wrote on his Instagram account.
