Ansari, a member of Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), stated that the case of abuse against an 18-month-old toddler at the Baby Preneur Daycare in Banda Aceh is a stark warning for the local government, law enforcement officials, and all childcare providers.

"Violence against children, especially in what should be a safe space, cannot be tolerated in any form. Daycare should be a place where parents entrust their trust, not their anxiety. Very young children are not yet able to defend themselves. Therefore, the state, local government, institutional administrators, and the community must be present to ensure their protection," she told reporters after attending the Hajj Financial Forum in Pamekasan, East Java, on Wednesday (4/29/2026).

The female legislator from electoral district XI Madura believes the case in Aceh should not stop at simply prosecuting the perpetrator.

"This case should serve as a momentum for a comprehensive evaluation of licensing, operational standards, caregiver competency, oversight mechanisms, and parental access to children's well-being while in daycare," she said.

Ansari explained that the Banda Aceh City Government had also stated that Daycare Baby Preneur did not yet have an operational permit.

Therefore, Ansari continued, closing the institution was considered a crucial step to prevent further childcare services operating without clear oversight and standards.

She encouraged local governments to re-register all childcare services, including checking their legality, number of caregivers, human resource background, room safety standards, and child-handling procedures.
