Inp.polri.go.id - Serang. The Banten Regional Police's Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation conducted cyber patrols to curb soccer betting during the 2024 AFC semi-final match between the Indonesian national team and Uzbekistan on Monday evening (29/4/2024).

"We employed cyber patrols due to the potential for gambling via social media," explained Senior Superintendent Didik Hariyanto, the Banten Police Head of Public Relations.

He said that the Banten Police Cyber Task Force conducted these patrols to address the growing trend of soccer gambling on social media platforms and online.

"We urge the public to refrain from engaging in gambling activities during this time," Chief Didik said.
