Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian National Police (INP) Special Detachment 88 Anti Teror (Densus 88) arrested two suspected terrorists from the Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD) Bima group in West Nusa Tenggara on Wednesday. 

One of the suspects, identified as LHM, is the Amir or leader of the group.  The other one is identified as DW, a member of the group

Senior Superintendent Erdi Adrimulan Chaniago, the INP Public Relations Division Head of General Information, said on Saturday (7/9/2024) that the suspects were arrested at separate locations in Bima. LHM was arrested in Mpunda, while DW was in Penarega.

LHM reportedly delivered radical Friday sermons and led physical training and halaqah activities across Bima, West Sumbawa, and Lombok. DW played a role in recruitment and physical training, preparing members for potential terror acts.

Both suspects had pledged allegiance to ISIS and joined JAD Bima. Authorities seized evidence, including an air rifle and 15 books.

Chief Erdi urged the public to be vigilant and avoid extremist groups, highlighting the group's systematic recruitment efforts. He also advised parents to be cautious when selecting educational institutions to prevent exposure to radical ideologies.
