Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The House of Representatives (DPR) and the government reached a critical agreement on Monday (9/2/2026) to guarantee health services for 11 million citizens recently removed from the national subsidized insurance scheme.
Under the deal, the government will cover the premiums for the health insurance "Contribution Assistance Recipient" (JK PBI) segment for the next three months, ensuring that life-saving treatments for high-risk patients remain uninterrupted during a massive data re-validation process.
"For the next three months, all health services will continue to be provided and the PBI premiums will be paid by the government," said DPR Deputy Speaker Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, while reading the meeting’s conclusions as reported by antaranews.com.
The decision was made after Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin’s warning that deactivations impacted 120,000 patients with catastrophic illnesses, including 12,000 poor patients requiring weekly dialysis.
To ensure future accuracy, the Ministry of Social Affairs and BPJS Health will synchronize data with local administration to identify recipients who truly qualify for state aid.
