Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources has confirmed that electricity tariffs for non-subsidized customers will remain unchanged in the first quarter of 2026, covering January to March.
“Although the pricing formula indicates a potential adjustment, the government decided to keep electricity tariffs unchanged to protect public purchasing power,” said Acting Director General of Electricity Tri Winarno in an official statement on Thursday (1/1/2026), as reported by antaranews.com.
The decision applies nationwide and follows a quarterly tariff evaluation mandated under the Energy Minister Regulation No. 7 of 2024, which considers macroeconomic indicators including the rupiah exchange rate, Indonesian Crude Price, inflation, and the Coal Benchmark Price. Despite movements in these parameters, the government opted to maintain price stability.
Tri added that tariffs for 24 subsidized customer groups will also remain unchanged, with electricity subsidies continuing as planned. He emphasized that the policy aims to support household welfare and business certainty while ensuring supply reliability through state electricity company PT PLN (Persero).
