Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has called on Singapore to invest in Indonesia’s downstream sector if it wants to purchase green electricity from the country.
“If Singapore wants to buy our green electricity, they must invest here, especially in our downstream industry,” he said on Friday (21/2/2025) at his ministry.
Minister Bahlil emphasized that the export of green electricity should be a fair exchange between the two countries.
“We want to share with Singapore, but what is Singapore offering us in return?” he questioned, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Indonesia and Singapore are currently negotiating the best framework for electricity exports. Bahlil also noted that President Prabowo Subianto has instructed him to prioritize national interests in shaping these policies.
While formerMinister of Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan had discussed exporting up to 3 gigawatts of renewable energy to Singapore, Minister Bahlil remains cautious, citing national priorities.
