inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry announced new assessment criteria for the Adipura Award, focusing not only on management but also on budgets and community resources to reduce waste generation.
The Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry Rosa Vivien Ratnawati, explained that her office has developed new assessment criteria for the Adipura, not only for clean cities but also for those with environmentally friendly policies and facilities.
"We are issuing new assessment criteria for the Adipura, which include three fundamental dimensions: waste management and cleanliness systems, each with a value of 50 percent; regional budgets and policies, each with a value of 20 percent; and human resource readiness and supporting infrastructure, each with a value of 30 percent," she said, as reported by Antaranews, Thursday (7/10/2025).
She explained that the assessment changes align with the new Adipura concept, which is awarded to regencies/cities deemed successful in managing the environment and cleanliness. This emphasizes waste reduction at source, strengthening community participation, and implementing progressive sorting and recycling.
Furthermore, the jury will also assess whether the regencies/cities are still disposing of waste at final processing sites (TPA) through open dumping, or openly accumulating waste without management.
Based on the assessment results, regencies/cities are classified into four categories: Adipura Kencana for best performance, Adipura for high achievement, Adipura Certificate for meeting basic criteria, and Dirty City as a warning for regions with the lowest performance.
Dissemination will begin in 38 provinces and 514 regencies/cities, followed by a coaching phase. The 2025 Adipura Award is scheduled for announcement in February 2026.
