Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto announced that every village resident across Indonesia will automatically become a member of the Merah Putih Village and Urban Cooperative, now established in 80,000 villages nationwide.

Speaking at the closing of the 6th National Congress of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) in Jakarta on Monday (29/9/2025), he said the cooperative will give citizens easier access to affordable basic goods while also absorbing the production of farmers, fishers, and small businesses.

“This will strengthen people’s economic power because we consider every village resident an automatic cooperative member,” President Prabowo said, as reported by antaranews.com.

He explained that lower prices will be achieved by cutting supply chain layers, allowing goods to move directly from producers to cooperatives. The government also plans to expand cooperative enterprises with supermarkets in every district, hypermarkets at provincial levels, and national distribution centers to support local products.

President Prabowo added that the initiative will be accompanied by price cuts for essential goods such as rice, cooking oil, subsidized LPG, and fertilizers, along with the installation of solar power in every village to boost energy independence.

He further announced an accelerated public housing program by raising the housing loan facility quota to 350,000 beneficiaries, starting with the distribution of 25,000 homes.
