Executive Pier Service Taken Out to Smoothen Traffic Flow at Port

inp.polri.go.id - Serang. The Transportation Ministry Duddy Purwagandhi says that the withdrawal of executive pier service in Merak Port, Cilegon, was meant to ease the traveler distribution. The withdrawal will be effectively applied during the 2025 Eid Homecoming Season.

“Because one of our concerns and attention in our evaluation is that of executive pier service,” says Duddy on Wednesday (3/5/2025).

On this occasion, he said that the elimination of the executive pier service would be carried out starting March 24, 2025. He then reiterated that all Merak Port pier services will be regular. 

Previously, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) said that ticket rates at the Merak Port executive pier would be eliminated starting D-5 of Eid.

ASDP Indonesia President Director, Ferry Heru Widodo, said that based on a joint agreement with the National Association of River, Lake and Ferry Transportation Entrepreneurs (Gapasdap), to equalize the executive pier rates with regular ones.

Meanwhile, for passengers who have purchased executive tickets long before Eid, a refund will be made to adjust the ferry ticket fare to regular. Of the total seven piers at Merak Port, one of them has executive status.
