Government Launched Ramadan Ramah Anak Movement, Effort to Prevent Child Abuse
inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government has launched the Ramadan Ramah Anak Movement as an effort to suppress violence against children. The joint declaration was called by the six ministries in Jakarta on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.
Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Arifah Fauzi said that this movement was initiated by her ministry and involved various parties to ensure child protection during the month of Ramadan.
The Child-Friendly Ramadan Movement was born from the results of an analysis that showed that one of the main causes of violence against women and children is poor parenting and uncontrolled use of gadgets. Through Ramadan, Arifah believed that it could be the momentum to encourage parents to be more aware with parenting skills and limit the use of gadgets for children.
“The Ramadan momentum hopefully could be the reflection for parents in evaluating their parenting skill and to limit the use of gadgets to their children,” highlights Minister Arifah on Wednesday (3/5/2025).
The launch event was attended by six ministers, namely Minister of Population and Family Development Wihaji, Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Abdul Mu'ti, Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Praktikno, and Minister of Communication and Digital Meutya Hafid. Deputy Chief of Presidential Staff Muhammad Qodari also attended the declaration.
Collaboration between ministries in this movement is part of an effort to achieve the target of Indonesia Emas 2045. President Prabowo Subianto has emphasized the importance of cross-sector cooperation to ensure sustainable human development.
"This collaboration is a form of government synergy in building a better generation of Indonesia in the future," says Arifah in her closing statement..
