inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait (Ara) coordinated with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) and the Bekasi City Government (Pemkot) to handle the flood disaster in Bekasi City, West Java.
"I have coordinated with the Head of BNPB and also the Mayor. We will try to discuss with the community whether there is a desire to relocate because this flood often recurs," said the Minister of PKP on Thursday (3/6/2025).
In order to help residents affected by the disaster, the Minister Maruarar also distributed a number of aids including instant noodles, toiletries, floor cleaners, underwear and medical supplies for parents and children.
According to him, the evacuees need assistance as soon as possible from the government to ease the flood victims’ burden.
Based on data from the Bekasi City BNPB, the number of residents affected by the flood disaster in Bekasi City is 23,967 families consisting of 61,223 people with the most affected region in Jatiasih where 5229 families or 16,733 people are affected by the flood.
