Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A viral YouTube video claiming joint TNI and Polri forces forcibly closed the International Monetary Fund (IMF) office in Indonesia is a hoax, according to a fact-check report verified on Monday (31/8/2026).
The 16-minute video used AI-generated thumbnails depicting security forces surrounding the office, while its actual narration only discussed World Bank and IMF economic growth predictions alongside state loan policies.
Fact-checking platform turnbackhoax.id reported that the claim is untrue, noting that no credible news sources reported any closure of the IMF office by security forces.
Image analysis using Hive Moderation confirmed that the thumbnail image featuring military and police personnel surrounding the IMF building was artificially generated, further disproving the video's headline claims.
