Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati has urged the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to increase its recruitment of Indonesian professionals, particularly in leadership roles, during a meeting with IsDB President Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser.
“As the third-largest shareholder of IsDB, Indonesia seeks greater representation in its staff and management to enhance our contribution to global development,” she said in her statement published on Instagram on Monday (8/12/2024), as quoted by antaranews.com.
Minister Sri Mulyani emphasized that this goal challenges Indonesian professionals to actively pursue and advance careers within international organizations, further strengthening Indonesia's role in global initiatives.
The discussion also focused on the development challenges faced by IsDB member countries and the organization’s strategic framework for the next decade. President Al Jasser invited Sri Mulyani to a key meeting in Medina in early 2025 to finalize these plans.
The IsDB President also detailed reforms in operational models, financial instruments, and pricing to better support low-income member countries facing significant financial and developmental challenges.
While in Riyadh, Sri Mulyani participated in the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Conference, where she shared insights on Indonesia’s post-COVID recovery, fiscal policy reforms, and lessons in economic transformation from Gulf nations.
