Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has opened the possibility of a salary increase for Indonesia’s civil servants in 2026, though no formal decision has been made.
“There’s always a chance, but we don’t yet know how big that chance is,” he told reporters at the Finance Ministry in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/10/2025), responding to questions about next year’s potential pay rise.
His remarks contrasted with those of former Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, who previously said no raise or new recruitment was planned for 2026 as most of the fiscal capacity in the draft 2026 state budget would be allocated to national priority programs.
The government is currently finalizing the single salary system to simplify income components and improve transparency. Fiscal officials emphasized that any pay raise decision will depend on the government’s spending priorities within the 2026 budget framework.
