Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said on Saturday  (29/11/2025) that he is prepared to release emergency funds to support the government’s response to severe floods and landslides across Sumatra. 

He admitted he was not fully briefed on the Disaster Pooling Fund (PFB) scheme but stressed that he is ready to act. 

“If I am instructed to pay, I will pay, simple as that,” Minister Purbaya  said, as reported by antaranews.com

The PFB, established under Presidential Regulation No. 75/2021, enables flexible disaster-risk financing through state and regional budgets or risk transfer mechanisms such as insurance. Current disasters in North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and Aceh have triggered calls for a national emergency declaration, as local capacities are deemed insufficient.

President Prabowo Subianto said that immediate priority remains delivering aid while authorities continue assessing on-the-ground conditions before deciding on further measures.
