Indonesian National Police (INP) Deputy Chief Commissioner General Dedi Prasetyo delivered sanitation facilities to 2,983 evacuees affected by the ongoing eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, during a visit to the Huntara II temporary shelter in Konga Village on Saturday (29/11/2025).
The assistance was part of the community service program of Police Academy Class of 1990, aimed at meeting basic needs in evacuation sites.
Chief Dedi, accompanied by senior officers including East Nusa Tenggara Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Darmoko, also inaugurated a new borehole well serving 829 households, as reported by antaranews.com
He later officiated the Early Warning System (EWS) for Mount Lewotobi in Pululera Village, highlighting its role in enhancing public safety.
“This system is a concrete commitment to rapid and accurate mitigation,” Chief Dedi said, noting that 178 disasters were recorded nationwide this week, with Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra hardest hit.
Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki volcanic activity remains at Level IV (Awas).
