Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Food Agency (NFA) has assured that Indonesia’s food supply is secure ahead of the fasting month of Ramadan this year, with sufficient stock to meet demand and measures in place to stabilize prices.
“As we approach the holy month of Ramadan, the national food supply remains stable and sufficient,” said NFA Head Arief Prasetyo Adi during a hearing at the House of Representatives (DPR) on Tuesday (4/2/2025).
He highlighted government efforts to maintain food security, including boosting national reserves and ensuring smooth distribution. Projections show that 12 key commodities—such as rice, corn, and beef—will remain well-stocked throughout the year.
With 8 million tons of rice carried over from early 2025 and 1.9 million tons in government reserves, authorities are ready to intervene if needed to prevent price fluctuations.
While most staple food prices are stable, some consumer goods—such as cooking oil and chilies—are above the government’s price ceiling, according to antaranews.com.
