Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed on Wednesday (7/5/2025) that Indonesian citizens in India and Pakistan are safe following rising cross-border tensions between the two countries.
“Our embassies in New Delhi and Islamabad have contacted our citizens there,” said the ministry’s Director of Citizens Protection Judha Nugraha, on Wednesday (7/5/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com,
There are 74 Indonesians in Pakistan’s targeted zones and 11 in Indian-administered Kashmir, including two children. Most are married to local residents and currently feel safe.
The ministry urged Indonesians in border regions to stay alert, monitor local developments, avoid conflict areas, and postpone non-essential travel. Hotlines are available at +92 345 8571989 (Islamabad) and +91 76696 00082 (New Delhi).
Indonesia also called on India and Pakistan to exercise restraint and resolve the conflict through dialogue. The escalation follows India’s missile strikes on several Pakistani cities and Kashmir, which India claimed were aimed solely at terrorist camps. Pakistan condemned the attack and vowed to respond.
