Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian government officially launched a weekly Work From Home (WFH) policy for civil servants starting Wednesday, to save energy consumption and respond to global geopolitical shifts.
"This single-day weekly remote work mandate for central and regional agencies will undergo a thorough evaluation after the initial two-month implementation," said Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto during a virtual press conference on Tuesday (31/3/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
The policy exempts essential public services including healthcare, security, and strategic industries such as energy and logistics. While basic to secondary education remains in-person five days a week, higher education for fourth-semester students and above will follow specific ministerial guidelines.
Minister of Labor Yassierli added that a separate circular will be issued for private firms, state-owned Enterprises (BUMN), and regional-owned enterprises (BUMD) to encourage similar energy efficiency programs.
