Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian government is escalating its crackdown on digital crimes, including online gambling, scams, and offenses targeting vulnerable groups such as women and children.
Following a technical meeting at the Indonesian National Police (INP) Headquarters on Thursday, officials emphasized that inter-agency collaboration is essential to combat increasingly sophisticated technological threats.
"Online gambling, scams, and various crimes targeting children and vulnerable groups must be handled more firmly. There is no tolerance," said Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid in a press release confirmed Friday (8/6/2026), as cited by antaranews.com.
She noted that strengthening digital reporting and tracking services is a top priority for the ministry this year.
INP Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo added that security forces are currently enhancing human resource capacity to address transnational technology-based crimes. He stressed that cooperation between institutions is mandatory to ensure law enforcement remains effective against global challenges and emerging legal loopholes in the digital landscape.
