inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of the National Food Agency (Bapanas) Arief Prasetyo Adi stated that the government is trying to maintain the stability of food prices and supplies to ensure smooth and solemn Eid al-Fitr 2025.
"Because we have prepared for this effort long ago. As for food prices, in general everything is still under control. Our only concern today is on cayenne pepper whose price is still quite high," said Arief on Thursday (3/13/2025).
He emphasized on commodities that are fluctuating, such as chillies, are because of the rainy seasons which disrupts the harvest season.
"The price increase of this commodity is closely related to rain, as the rains caused the cayenne plants to fall off. So in the future it will be necessary to use a roof or greenhouse for this,” explains Arif.
Another concern for Bapanas is the price of MinyaKita which should have been sold for IDR 15,700 in the market, but in reality was sold for IDR 17,000 - IDR 18,000.
The Head of Bapanas stated that if there is a selling price that exceeds the highest retail price (HET) or the reference sales price (HAP), government intervention is needed. Moreover, President Prabowo Subianto has instructed that food prices during Ramadan until Eid al-Fitr, must be maintained.
