inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government has officially implemented a Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy for the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday period and urged companies not to reduce employees' annual leave allowances.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto detailed that the WFA scheme will be effective on March 16 and 17, 2026, for the homecoming travel period and March 25, 26, and 27, 2026, for the return journey.
"To optimize public mobility and make it easier for people to plan their travel during the Eid al-Fitr National Religious Holiday (HBKN), flexibility is being provided in determining workdays," said Airlangga on Tuesday (2/10/2026).
He stated that the policy applies to both state civil servants (ASN) and private sector workers. Airlangga also emphasized that the policy is a flexible working arrangement, not a set day off for workers.
In line with this, Minister of Manpower Yassierli asked companies not to count WFA as annual leave.
"Workers or laborers who take WFA continue to carry out their work in accordance with their duties and obligations. Therefore, WFA is not counted as annual leave," he said.
Furthermore,Yassierli also asked employers to pay wages to workers during WFA in accordance with the wages received at their regular workplace or in accordance with the agreed-upon wage.
Companies are also asked to regulate working hours and supervision of work implementation to ensure productivity remains.
Yassierli also detailed the work sectors exempted from the WFA policy, including healthcare, hotels, shopping centers, manufacturing, the food and beverage industry, and other essential sectors related to the continuity of production or factories.
He urged regional governments and companies to implement the WFA policy so that the economic growth target for the first quarter of 2026 can be achieved while maintaining work productivity.
