inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi stated that the government has officially reduced airfares by 13-14 percent during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year travel season.

"We are taking this step to maintain interregional connectivity and ensure smooth public mobility with more affordable fares. We want to ensure that everyone can enjoy air transportation services, especially during the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holiday," said the Minister of Transportation on Wednesday (10/22/2025).

This aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's directive regarding strengthening strategic measures to maintain the momentum of national economic growth in the second half of 2025, with a focus on increasing household consumption and public purchasing power.

Dudy stated that the policy of reducing airfares demonstrates the government's commitment to easing the burden on people celebrating Christmas and New Year.

The ticket price reduction applies to domestic economy class tickets for the travel period from December 22 to January 10, 2026, with a purchase period from October 22 to January 10, 2026.

He also encouraged the public to take advantage of the reduced airfare.

This reduction in airfares is the result of adjustments to several cost components, including a 6 percent Government-Borne Value Added Tax (PPN DTP), a 2 percent fuel surcharge (FS) for jet aircraft, and a 20 percent Propeller surcharge (FS).

Furthermore, passenger services are reduced by 50 percent, landing, positioning, and storage services by 50 percent, aviation fuel price reductions at 37 airports, as well as advance and extended services and longer operating hours.

"I express my appreciation and gratitude to all parties who have collaborated in this effort to reduce airfares, from relevant ministries/agencies, airlines, fuel suppliers, and airport operators. Hopefully, this will provide direct benefits to the public," thanked Minister Dudy.

He stated that during implementation, the Ministry of Transportation will not only focus on price reductions, but also on service quality and flight safety.
