inp.polri.go.id - Padang. Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas stated that the government will firmly enforce the law against social media platforms found to have violated Government Regulation (PP) Number 17 of 2025 concerning the Protection of Electronic System Governance in Child Protection (PP Tunas).
"The Ministry of Communication and Digital will enforce the law, including blocking all platforms that do not comply with PP Tunas," said Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas in Padang City on Monday.
This was conveyed by Minister Supratman Andi Agtas on the sidelines of the inauguration of Legal Aid Posts (Posbakum) for several regencies and cities in West Sumatra Province.
Minister Supratman emphasized that once PP Tunas has been harmonized by relevant stakeholders, the Ministry of Communication and Digital will have strong legal authority to enforce its legal regulations.
Therefore, he said, digital social media platforms that fail to comply with the provisions of the Electronic System Governance Protection Act for Child Protection must be dealt with firmly to protect children's future.
According to him, the Tunas Regulation provides a clear framework for the public to protect children under the age of 16, especially in the digital space.
Meanwhile, the Regent of Dharmasraya, West Sumatra Province, Annisa Suci Ramadhani, welcomed the Tunas Regulation, which she considered a progressive step by the government to protect children in the digital space.
"This is certainly a good policy, and I completely agree that social media is a high-risk platform," said the Dharmasraya Regent.
According to her, there are many ways to teach children about technology without relying entirely on social media. She stated that the local government will follow up on the Tunas Regulation to ensure its optimal implementation.
Although this policy has received a positive response from the public and stakeholders, she emphasized that the implementation of the Tunas Regulation must be monitored to ensure its positive impact, especially in protecting children under 16.
