inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) emphasized the importance of building a giant sea wall to deal with the threat of tidal flooding and land subsidence on the north coast of Jakarta.

"Land subsidence can reach 10 cm per year. This is an existential danger, not only for the coast, but for Jakarta as a whole," said AHY in the Development Planning Meeting of the 2025-2029 DKI Jakarta at the Jakarta City Hall, Wednesday (4/23/2025).

On the other hand, the giant sea wall project is also the focus of President Prabowo Subianto. AHY said the central government is also looking for a solution to deal with the problem of flooding due to the endless rise in sea water (rob).

"This is a major concern of President Prabowo Subianto. The Minister of National Development Planning also knows exactly how much he also wants us to find a solution because this is not just a matter of dealing with tidal flooding every year or dealing with land subsidence," said AHY quoted by Antaranews.

Therefore, AHY encourages the use of the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU) scheme for sustainable and profitable sea wall projects.

"It will definitely require a large budget, requires breakthroughs. Thus the KPBU scheme must be put forward as this is also sought not only for the environment but for more beneficial and profitable management for the advancement of Jakarta," concluded AHY.
