Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government is preparing a presidential regulation (Perpres) to govern the online motorcycle taxi sector, with a strong focus on protecting driver partners, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi said on Friday (24/10/2025).

“The regulation mainly concerns protection for our ojol partners,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com. 

State Secretary Prasetyo confirmed that the draft has been received and is under final review, pending further coordination with stakeholders and ride-hailing companies.

He said that only several technical points remain to be finalized, and the government aims to issue the regulation before the end of this year.

President Prabowo Subianto had raised the importance of ensuring fair treatment and welfare for around four million online taxi drivers and two million small business owners relying on delivery services.
