Inp.polri.go.id - Papua. The search for Susi Air Pilot, Captain Philips Mark Mehterns, who is being held hostage by the Armed Criminal Group (KKB), is ongoing. Currently, the search is centered around the area of Nduga Regency, Papua Mountains.

"The Damai Cartenz Task Force team together with other units are continuing to try to free the hostages being held captive by the KKB led by Egianus Kogoya," said the Head of the Damai Cartenz Task Force, Police Senior Superintendent Faizal Rahmadani in Jayapura, Friday (16/6/23).

He admitted that it was not easy to search the area because of the natural conditions at an altitude of more than 3,000 meters above sea level. Thus, it is quite difficult for members when moving.

Even so, he ensured he would continue trying to free the pilot safely.

"Members continue to move closer to the locations where Pilot Philip is suspected of hiding," he explained.
