inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian asked the regional government in the Rebana Region, which includes seven autonomous regions in West Java, to improve the investment climate, in order to become the driving force of the West Java economy and buffer regions.
The Rebana Region includes seven autonomous regions, namely Cirebon City, Cirebon Regency, Subang Regency, Sumedang Regency, Kuningan Regency, Majalengka Regency, and Indramayu Regency.
"The point is, investment in West Java must be able to be increased with its various problems as we will discuss it futher," said Tito, quoted by Antaranews, Jakarta, Monday (5/19/2025).
He said that investment does not always have to come from abroad, but can also be driven from within the country. He considered West Java's position to be very strategic because it has abundant natural resources (SDA) and a large productive age population.
Therefore, support for national and local entrepreneurs is very much needed. In addition, empowering local communities is also important because they can act as a buffer in minimizing the potential for conflict.
"Well, in my opinion, siding with local communities is also a must, because they can become a buffer zone that helps when something happens," he said.
He also encouraged regional heads to facilitate licensing in order to revive the business climate, one of which is through the existence of the Public Service Mall (MPP).
Furthermore, in order to improve development in the Rebana Region, the Minister of Home Affairs reminded the region not to rely too much on natural resources, but rather to strengthen human resources (HR).
He emphasized that education and health programs need to be improved in quality.
