Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy has projected that the peak of the homecoming exodus will occur on 5 to 7 April 2024.
"The peak of the exodus is expected to occur on 5 to 7 April 2024, and the return exodus on 14 to 15 April 2024," he said after the Coordination Meeting of the 2024 Eid Transportation Level Ministers (RTM) on Monday (18/3/2024).
According to Minister Muhadjir, these estimations were based on a survey conducted by the Ministry of Transportation, which predicts a staggering 193.6 million travelers in 2024, as reported by antaranews.com.
It marked a significant increase of over 60 percent compared to the 123.8 million travelers recorded in 2023.
To accommodate this surge, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has built six new toll roads in Java and Sumatra.
