Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Hundreds of additional National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) rescuers arrived in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra on Sunday (30/11/2025) to reinforce emergency operations following severe floods and landslides over the past week.
“We deployed more teams to accelerate search efforts in isolated areas,” said Fazzli,the Head of Tanjung Pinang SAR Office, as reported by antaranews.com
The latest group, consisting of 54 rescuers transported aboard SAR Purworejo, landed at Krueng Geukueh Port, Lhokseumawe, before being assigned to three priority sectors in Aceh Utara: Langkahan, Lhoksukon, and Sawang. Each team faces damaged roads, unstable terrain, and continuing reports of residents requiring assistance.
Earlier reinforcements from Bengkulu, Pekanbaru, and the Basarnas Special Group (BSG) Jakarta had already reached West Sumatra, Sibolga, and Tapanuli Tengah. Additional units from several provinces are en route as part of a coordinated national response involving the military, police, Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), local administration, and the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) to restore access and accelerate victim search operations.
