Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The government clarified on Monday (9/2/2026) that Hotel Sultan in Senayan area, Jakarta is not being closed, but its management is being transferred to the Gelora Bung Karno Complex Management Center (PPKGBK).
State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi confirmed that the hotel remains operational despite a Central Jakarta District Court order requiring the former operator, PT Indobuildco, to vacate the premises within eight days. The court ruling was the latest development to a long-standing legal battle over land rights at Blok 15 of the GBK complex, returning the asset to the state.
"It is not being closed, but rather its management is being shifted. It can still operate, and we have already communicated with the employees and the management," said State Secretary Prasetyo, as cited by antaranews.com.
To ensure a smooth transition, PPKGBK has established a service post to protect the interests of hotel employees, vendors, and tenants during the asset recovery process. The court mandate for immediate execution allows the state to reclaim the land and buildings even if further legal appeals are filed by the former private operator.
