Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. In a significant move to align with global standards, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX/BEI) has committed to publishing share ownership data for stakes below 5% in listed companies.
Acting President Director Jeffrey Hendrik announced on Sunday (1/2/2026) that this transparency initiative will be implemented in early February 2026, aiming to match the disclosure levels of major global exchanges.
The policy shift is part of a broader "remapping" of the Indonesian capital market to appease international index providers like MSCI and FTSE.
By providing a clearer view of who owns what, the IDX hopes to mitigate concerns regarding market manipulation and the infamous "pump and dump", locally known as saham gorengan, practices that have recently rattled investor confidence.
