Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Indonesia has pledged to exercise inclusive, impartial, and objective leadership as President of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Saturday (10/1/1016).
“In carrying out its mandate as UNHRC President, Indonesia is committed to leading all processes and sessions in an impartial, inclusive, and objective manner,” Ministry of Foreign spokesperson Vahd Nabyl A. Mulachela said, as reported by antaranews.com.
He said Indonesia will oversee council proceedings and ensure that all programs scheduled for the year are implemented effectively, while promoting cross-regional dialogue and constructive engagement among stakeholders.
The leadership approach, he added, builds on Indonesia’s long-standing record in global human rights diplomacy, including previous roles within the UN Commission on Human Rights and the UNHRC.
According to the ministry, Indonesia’s presidency is expected to be constructive and to strengthen the consistency between its international human rights diplomacy and domestic efforts, including regulatory reforms, institutional capacity building, and expanded dialogue with civil society.
