Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Social Affairs Saifullah Yusuf announced that over 200,000 recipients of social assistance, known locally as bansos, have been cut off after being identified as online gambling players.

“This follows a data match between 30 million beneficiaries and 9 million gambling-linked NIKs tracked by PPATK with the President’s approval,” he said at the Presidential Palace on Tuesday (29/7/2025), referring to the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis.

More than 600,000 suspected cases were found. Of those, over 200,000 recipients had their benefits revoked.

“The remaining 300,000 are under investigation. If confirmed, they will also be excluded in Q3,” the minister said, as quoted by antaranews.com.

Minister Saifullah emphasized that aid quotas remain but will be redirected to eligible recipients in other categories.

PPATK data show Rp 957 billion in social aid funds were used for online gambling in 2024 across 7.5 million transactions involving 571,410 beneficiaries.
