inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto while delivering a joint statement with French President Emmanuel Macron announced that Indonesia and France launched a strategic declaration in the field of culture.

The President explained that the Joint Declaration for the Strategy in the Field of Culture between Indonesia and France is a guideline for various cooperation in the fields of culture and the creative economy between the two countries.

"As countries that both have strong cultural traditions, we also launched a strategic declaration in the field of Indonesia-France culture as a guideline for cooperation in various fields of culture, and the creative economy that contributes to economic and social development," said President Prabowo.

Cooperation in the field of culture was one of the focuses of President Prabowo and President Macron when the two met at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, Wednesday (5/28/2025).

President Macron, while giving a speech at the bilateral meeting at the Merdeka Palace, also emphasized the importance of highlighting the cultural aspect in the Indonesia-France partnership.

"There is an agreement to be signed in Borobudur tomorrow," said President Macron.

According to Macron, the friendship between Indonesia and France is not just a formality, but rather there is a close bond between the two countries that is getting stronger from year to year.

The two leaders of the countries have completed a one-on-one meeting, a bilateral meeting, and witnessed the signing of a number of cooperation documents between Indonesia and France. Then, President Prabowo and President Macron took turns giving joint statements in front of journalists.
